Bio
From Toronto, Ontario, this Alternative Rock project was formed in 2013.
Albeit being a new project, their members have been around
for a while, and have participated in projects that have
shared the stage with such artists as Bryan Adams, 10,000
Maniacs, Spin Doctors, Gene Loves Jezebel (UK), Silence 4
(Portugal), Mao Morta (Portugal), etc...
They have had radio air play on over 10 Canadian radio stations, from coast‐to-coast including 94.9 The Rock, in the GTA, Rebel 101.7 in Ottawa, Y108 in Hamilton and features on several blogs, including Alan Cross's Top 11 Playlist. They have also had international press coverage and radio air play in California, UK and Portugal.
Since releasing their debut EP “Strange Way Of Life”, in 2015, Social Hysteria have played several shows and festivals in Southern Ontario, opening for Shawn Desman and Coleman Hell, and released their second and latest work in 2018, with producer and Finger 11 drummer, Steve Molella. Their new release has guest appearances of Steve Molellaon drums, Care Failure (Die Mannequin) on vocals, and Al Capo (Stuck on Planet Earth) also on vocals.
In 2018, they broke in to the Canadian Rock top 100 Charts with their song "Skewed Overrule", peaking at number 58.
In 2019 they won the International Portuguese Music Award, in Boston, for "Best Rock Performance", with their song "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", presented by Nuno Bettencourt and Kevin Figueiredo, from the band Extreme.
